Why WhatsApp

The app your customers already have open.

Stockwaka could have been one more app to download. We built it inside WhatsApp instead — for shop owners and for their customers — because that is where Nigerian trade already happens.

How Stockwaka works

The reasons

Why not an app?

Nobody installs an app for every shop

A customer buys from many shops. If each needed its own app, that would mean many downloads, many sign-ups and phone storage that many people do not have to spare. A shop link opens a chat in an app the customer already uses every day.

It works on the networks people actually have

Voice notes are small. They send on 2G, in the market and in traffic, where a large app would struggle to load.

Voice is how the market already talks

Customers already send voice notes asking a shop for two bags of rice. Stockwaka turns that same voice note into an order, matched against what the shop actually sells, so it never guesses at a product.

The trust is already there

The conversation happens in the app people use with family and friends, and the money goes straight to the shop.

What WhatsApp cannot do, and how we handle it

A WhatsApp message has a length limit, so a large catalogue cannot fit in one. Shops can offer a picture menu that opens inside WhatsApp instead. A shop link fills in the first message, but the customer still presses send. And someone with no link at all can simply message Stockwaka and ask where to buy what they need.

Start with one voice note.

Message Stockwaka on WhatsApp and set up your shop in a few minutes. Free to try, no card needed.
